WATCH THIS SPACE!! IT IS ALMOST THE TIME OF YEAR FOR OUR ANNUAL BOOK FAIR TO RETURN!!

Each year to celebrate World Book Day
on the 1st of March Ms. Mc Guinness organises the annual Book Fair. This is held for a week in the school Hall. With the help and assistance of the parents committee the fair is open each morning and afternoon where children and parents are invited to browse and purchase a selection of popular and classic much loved and educational books.

Last year over 1000Euro on commission was raised through the book fair. This money has been spent wisely. We purchased books that are used during Literacy Stations and by class teachers at all class levels in our school throughout the year. Thanks to all those who helped and bought at the fair.

During World Book Day week the teachers are also encouraged to undertake a selection of reading activities with the children to promote reading for pleasure. This can include DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time, Reading buddies, dressing up as book characters, writing book reviews etc. It is an enjoyable and worthwhile week in the school year.
